The news on WhatsApp Web is all over the internet today. For now it is only for Android users. Sorry iPhone users, you have to wait a little.
It’s a good thing if you are to lazy to pick up your phone just to read/type a message when you are on your desktop. My theory would be less time on phone, more time on PC = no phone distraction (for some superiors who are very particular about their staff with their phones).
I am sure some of you would have already used it or are using it. Now, for those of you who are wondering how to get it to work, first of all, you have to update your WhatsApp from your phone. After updating, you’ll see this in your menu.
Select ‘WhatsApp Web’ and you’ll be taken to a QR reader.
Launch the site as per link and you’ll be able to scan the QR code.
Right after scanning the code, wait for the magic to happen and you’ll be able to use WhatsApp via your desktop.
And it updates quite the same time as the message comes into your phone. Just make sure your phone is connected to WiFi or your phone data, else it won’t be able to work on your web. You can select to receive notification via your Desktop which from the above image, it’s the light blue box on the top left of the web app.
So basically, all you need is just three steps! Update. Scan. Launch.
For now, I’m enjoying it because I won’t be seen holding the phone often in a way.
